Brand & Identity Design
The Sun Surveyor app helps photographers, architects, and enthusiasts predict the location of the Sun and Moon for the purposes of scouting, planning, and optimization. As a contrast to the feature-dense app, we designed a logo that was ethereal and suggestive to elevate the brand. This was also important in order to differentiate the application from the other, engineering-first, apps in market. The logo depicts the Sun and Moon crossing paths, suggesting motion. A subtle representation of the eye of the user appears in the center.

The app has a live camera view, interactive map, 3D compass, and detailed Ephemeris view. An information- and feature-rich application like Sun Surveyor requires a lot of thought in order to create a simple and intuitive user experience. But we were up for the challenge.
Website Design
To drive traffic to the app stores, we extended the brand and visuals to the Sun Surveyor website. To showcase the potential of the application, the one page website includes professional photography examples from real app users.
