Job Opening: UI Developer with GWT and Angular 6+ Experience in Pittsburgh

Roket is Seeking an Experienced UI Developer with GWT (Google Web Toolkit) and Angular 6+ (6/7 preferred) Developer for Immediate Full-Time Employment

Roket is seeking a talented programmer to enhance and convert our client’s GWT applications to latest Angular. As a part of our Pittsburgh-based team, your primary focus will be on the development of Angular 6+ (Angular 6 and Angular 7) applications, integration and creation of front-end design systems, integration of back-end services, quality assurance, and successful launch/delivery/maintenance for our clients.

This role is in Pittsburgh, PA and NOT eligible for full-time telecommuting. However, we do offer flexible working hours and remote working days when necessary.

You’ll work alongside our client, and their team of developers, as well as Roket product strategists, designers, and engineers to efficiently define, design, and develop best-in-class digital products. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, crafting sophisticated user experiences, and flawless communication is essential.

The Role and Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain Angular 6+ web applications
  • Understand GWT front-end, and back-end in order to best convert front-end to Angular
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications or additional features
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Confidently lead projects to success with clear client and internal communication, decisive action, and a proactive work ethic
  • Bug fix and improve application performance
  • Enjoy collaborating with clients and feel confident managing the relationship
  • Work closely with Roket product strategists and designers to solve complex user experience and product problems quickly and efficiently and to ensure a frictionless design-to-development transition
  • Possess a desire to learn, grow, and teach skills to further your abilities and the abilities of your Crewmates

Your Skills

  • Strong understanding (2+ years) of Angular 6+, GWT (Google Web Toolkit) HTML5, CSS3, Google Material Design
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, and browser debugging
  • Experience developing and maintaining stateful, modular single-page Applications using Angular 6+
  • Experience with pre-processors and front-end tooling workflows: Node.js (NPM), SASS, Grunt/Gulp, Web Pack, etc
  • Experience with Responsive Web Design (RWD) patterns
  • Proven ability to create working prototypes (proof of concepts)
  • Experience with RxJS or other Reactive programming techniques/libraries
  • Experience using RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
  • Knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
