The site was all new — built from scratch. And the launch date was only a few months away. We needed to hustle.
Roket was responsible for creating every screen, every interaction, and every visual across 360fly’s iOS, Android, desktop, and web applications.
In parallel, we designed and deployed 360fly's robust marketing site, user-generated 360-degree video platform, interactive 360-degree video player, and two eCommerce platforms for the new consumer electronics product.
With the product launch date quickly approaching, a clear path forward was essential. The Roket team was part of a three-day in-depth information architecture session that identified and resolved many of the team’s feature and task prioritization, product language, and web ecosystem architecture concerns.
We worked alongside 360fly’s Pittsburgh-based team, sketching, prototyping, evaluating, and collecting feedback to help shape their web and application ecosystem. Our participation in daily standups and agile development planning meetings helped accelerate our work and simplify communication across their teams.
App User Experience
The 360fly action camera is set up and controlled by a mobile device. To ensure a successful user experience, this process had to be frictionless. We collaborated with 360fly’s engineering and product teams to ensure that any challenges related to Bluetooth pairing, account setup, hardware registration, and messaging were considered during the design process.
Web Development
Roket worked alongside 360fly’s internal web development team to realize the vision of 360fly.com. Working with Foundation, Django, and Python, our team developed all front-end interfaces for 360fly’s marketing site, community video portal, eCommerce store, and customer support site. Our team joined with 360fly’s backend developers and their agile process to deliver — for the first time online — a single-lens 360-degree video experience.
The product launched globaly online and in Best Buys nationwide. They went on to raise $40 million in May of 2016.
